About Matthew Whittmore
Matthew is from Stratford Ontario. He received his B.Sc. in Agriculture, with a Crop Science major from the University of Guelph and moved right into his MSc this spring of 2024. He is studying the effect of 4R (right rate, right source, right placement, right time) nitrogen management and cover crops on nitrous oxide (N2O) greenhouse gas emissions in his M.Sc.. This research combines Matthew’s strong passion for agriculture with his interest in making a sustainable future in the environment. He researched the effect of nitrogen fertilizer on soybean nodulation, and the effect of micronutrient deficiencies in soybean as part of his undergraduate studies. Ultimately, Matthew wants to make agricultural solutions for increased agricultural and environmental sustainability. This desire is to make a beneficial difference in people’s lives.
