About Khagendra Baral
My research program specializes in Soil and Environmental Sciences focusing on i) soil health, ii) nutrient management and nutrient cycling in agroecosystems to maximize crop nutrient use, and iii) greenhouse gas emission (GHG) mitigation. The objective of my research program is to provide a better understanding of the mechanisms that regulate C and N transformations and associated GHG emissions from agroecosystems using stable isotopes (15N) and modelling. The research contributes to the development of stable and highly productive, but low emissions agricultural management practices for agricultural sustainability.
