About Andrew Enns
Andrew grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and still lives there today. He completed a Bachelor’s in Science in agriculture (agronomy) at the University of Manitoba in the winter of 2024. He is working on a Master’s in plant sciences at the same university. Andrew is working on a project in conjunction with a larger project headed by the Canadian Food Grains Bank and local partners in eastern Africa. He is particularly interested in assessing how nature-based solutions and project interventions can create resilient agroecosystems in the face of worsening climate change. This topic spoke to Andrew due to its connection to the current environmental crisis, its ability to help vulnerable people and the unique opportunities that come with international work. He isn’t sure where his research will take him after this program but is excited to see what doors it will open.
